Justus von Liebig

Known the Father of Fertilizer, Justus von Liebig made valuable contributions to agricultural and biological chemistry, including the Law of the Minimum. Liebig's Law states that plant growth is determined by the scarcest, "limiting" nutrient it recieves and neatly summerizes AZOMITE®'s remineralizing function in relationship to plant vitality. Conventional fertilizer programs focus on macro-nutrients, while AZOMITE® supplies the trace elements necessary to support optimum function.

Liebig's barrel illustrates that just as the capacity of a barrel with staves of unequal length is limited by the shortest stave, so a plant's growth is limited by the nutrient in shortest supply.

AZOMITE® is a natural product mined from an ancient mineral deposit in Utah (USA) that typically contains a broad spectrum of over 70 minerals and trace elements, distinct from any mineral deposit in the world. AZOMITE® is used internationally as a feed additive and a soil re-mineralizer for plants, and is available in over sixty countries throughout the world.

Feed Additive Products

AZOMITE® has a long history as a natural farm animal feed additive. Classified as a Hydrated Sodium Calcium Aluminosilicate, which carries a GRAS (generally recognized as safe) classification under 21 CFR 582.2729 by the US Food and Drug Administration and is approved by the Association of American Feed Control Officials. OMRI Listed for organic use.

Soil Amendment Products

AZOMITE® trace minerals have been reported to improve root systems, yields and general plant vigor in a variety of field crops and garden vegetables. Available for a variety of applications, AZOMITE® can be used to remineralize nutrient-depleted soils and is OMRI Listed for certified organic production.

Aquaculture

AZOMITE® supplements minerals and stimulates pond water plankton growth. Shrimp grown with AZOMITE® at 1% showed a significant increase in weight gain.
